Where is Orient Desert Camp located?

Orient Desert Camp is nestled in a secluded and peaceful area of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes in Morocco. Our location is carefully chosen to offer an intimate, off-the-grid desert experience while still being accessible from the main village of Merzouga.

 How do I get to the camp?

Your journey to our camp is part of the adventure! We will coordinate a meeting time and place in Merzouga village. From there, your stay includes a transfer to the camp, and you can choose between a comfortable 4×4 vehicle or an iconic sunset camel trek. We can also arrange private transfers from other cities (like Fes or Marrakech) upon request.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, allowing you time to settle in before the sunset activities. Check-out is at 12:00 PM (Noon), giving you a relaxed morning to enjoy breakfast and the desert sunrise.

 What is included in the nightly rate?

Your stay with us is on a half-board basis and includes:

• Luxury tent accommodation with a private ensuite bathroom and climate control (A/C & Heating).

• A gourmet multi-course Moroccan dinner.

• A hearty traditional breakfast.

• Your arrival transfer from Merzouga (by 4×4 or camel).

• Evening campfire with live Berber music and storytelling.

• Complimentary bottled water and mint tea.

 Is the camp suitable for children and families?

Yes, children are very welcome! We are a family-run camp and love hosting families. Our larger suites (Black and Orange) are perfect for families, and children especially enjoy activities like sandboarding and camel riding.

Is there Wi-Fi at the camp?

Yes, we offer complimentary Wi-Fi in the main common areas of the camp, such as the restaurant and lounge tents. It allows you to stay connected, though we always encourage guests to also take the opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the serenity.

What should I pack for my desert stay?

We recommend packing:

• Comfortable clothing in layers (it can be warm during the day and cool at night).

• A warm jacket or fleece for the evenings.

• Closed-toe shoes like trainers for walking on sand.

• Sun protection: sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen, and a wide-brimmed hat.

• A camera to capture the stunning scenery.

• A portable power bank for convenience.

Are meals suitable for vegetarians or guests with special diets?

Yes! Our kitchen is very flexible. We can happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs. Please inform us of your specific requirements at the time of booking so we can prepare delicious meals for you.

What activities are available at the camp?

In addition to the evening music and campfire, we can arrange a wide variety of guided excursions, including:

We accept payments via international bank transfer and all major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) through a secure online payment link. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking.
